Law Enforcement Training Overview
LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS
FORCE ON FORCE TRAINING:
Simunitions has developed "Training for the real
world". Simunitions ammunition allows officers to train with their duty
weapon and their equipment. Our instructors are certified by Simunition
to utilize the "FX marking cartridges" for force on force training.
This training evaluates the officer's immediate response to a live
threat. The entire continuum of force can be utilized to verify
training techniques under a confrontational and realistic setting.

FIREARMS PROGRAMS
Tactical Handgun:
This course is designed to enhance firearms skills of officers in
responding to a sudden deployment of a handgun against them, weapons
retention, stress fire, reloading, and officer safety skills.

Law Enforcement Shotgun:
The shotgun has been law enforcement's primary support weapon. The
shotgun is a versatile and reliable weapon in the hands of a trained
officer. This course is designed to develop practical application
skills. Mounting the weapon, ammunition selection, stress fire,
shotgun-handgun transition, safety and maintenance are some of the
topics covered during this training course.

Pistol Caliber Carbine:
Many agencies are adding the carbine as a secondary patrol weapon in
addition to the shotgun. Pistol caliber carbine weapons are shoulder
weapons utilizing 9mm,.40 caliber and .45 caliber pistol ammunition.
Course content includes ballistics concerns such as extreme angles,
intermediate barriers and moving targets, tactical considerations in an
urban rural setting, supported and unsupported shooting positions,
sighting in and target acquisition.

Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle:
Law enforcement patrol rifle is a course designed to acquaint the
officer in the tactical application in which the carbine/rifle is the
most efficient weapon. The course covers weapon selection, application
vs misapplication, safe operation, carry positions, sighting in and
marksmanship, threat engagement, multiple target engagement and
supporting equipment.

TACTICAL PROGRAMS:
Close Quarter Engagement:
This course is designed to develop confidence and mental attitude to
respond with the appropriate use of force during an immediate
confrontation. Speed and immediate reaction to a threat is emphasized.
Multiple target engagement, low light application and tactical
assessment are included in this program.

High Risk Warrant Service:
(a) This course is dedicated towards the police officer, parole agent,
or probation officer, who suddenly find themselves part of a high risk
entry team for warrant service.
(b) This course is designed for tactical personnel, search warrant teams and task force operators:
Principles, planning, tactics and considerations
Approach, penetration and evacuation
Room, hallway, stairwell clearing techniques
Utilization of mirrors, scopes and support equipment

IMPACT WEAPONS TRAINING
Basic Side-Handle Baton PR-24:
This basic course orientates the officer in the moral and legal aspects
of utilizing the impact weapon. Drawing and deploying the impact
weapon, appropriate stances and striking techniques are emphasized.
Monadnock training profile is monitored to insure that the
manufacturers training program is presented to the officer to minimize
liability and have the officer overcome a negative situation with
positive results. Monadnock training certificate is provided. (8 hours)
Advanced Side-Handle Baton PR-24:
Advanced striking techniques and control holds are taught throughout
this program utilizing the Monadnock training profile. Monadnock
training certificate issued. (16 hours)
Expandable Side-Handle/Straight Baton Monadnock:
This program is designed to orientate the officer in the deployment and
striking techniques of the Monadnock side-handle and straight
expandable baton. Monadnock training certificate issued upon completion
of the program. (8 hours)
ASP Expandable Baton:
This program is designed to orientate the officer in the deployment and
striking techniques of the ASP expandable baron. ASP training profile
is followed during the training program. ASP training certificate is
issued upon completion. (8 hours)
Winchester Expandable Baton:
This program is designed to orientate the officer in the deployment and
striking techniques of the Winchester expandable baton. Winchesters
training profile is followed during the training program. Winchester
training certificate is issued upon completion. (8 hours)
CHEMICAL AGENTS:
This course addresses legal/civil concerns when using
chemical agents. The course focuses on the individual officers
decisions and methods to deploy. The course will cover CS, CN, and OC
(pepper) sprays. The course will train the officer in spray patterns,
proper deployment and decontamination procedures and equipment.
Continuum of force and chemical agents are
covered in this program as well. (8 hours)
ARREST TECHNIQUES AND WEAPONLESS DEFENSE:
This program is designed to train the officer in
appropriate arrest and defensive techniques. Officers are taught gross
motors skills techniques to enable the officer to revert to training in
an emergency. Convoluted and protracted techniques utilize sympathetic
nervous systems which greatly deteriorate in an emergency or upon
presentation of a threat. Student will
participate in realistic and confrontational situations to stimulate
the gross motor skills. "Paper targets don't shoot back and compliant
students don't resist".

Ground Fighting and Recovery:
The upright defensive/fighting position is the preferred method of
engagement. Officers are (aught how to recover from a downed position
and gain advantage. The officer will be trained on the deployment of
personal chemical agents, impact weapons and firearms from a downed
position. Realistic and confrontational training is utilized during the
course of instruction. Utilization of gross motor skills are
emphasized. (16 hours)
Edged Weapons Defense:
This two day program is designed to train officers in techniques and
tactics to resist edged weapon attacks. This course will cover escape
techniques, angles of attack, foot movements and stabilization
techniques, defensive tactics from a multiple attack and continuum of
force when dealing with a person armed with an edged weapon.

ELECTRONIC DEFENSIVE WEAPONS:
Taser (Tasertron):
Use of the non-lethal weapon has a documented 85% surrender rate of
non-compliant suspects. On many occasions the presentation of the
weapon has deterred a confrontation. The class content includes legal
and ethical application of the weapon, physical effects and
deployments. Certificate from Tasertron is issued upon the completion
of the class.
(8 hour/16 hour classes available)
Air Taser:
The Air Taser is a self contained system utilizing compressed air to
propel the probes into the non-compliant suspect. Course will cover
legal and civil aspects of the use of the Air Taser, the advantages
over the electronic defensive weapons, continuum of force, acquiring
target areas. Certificate from Air Taser upon completion of program. (8
hours)
Nova Stungun:
The Nova Stungun has proven itself with law enforcement in numerous
applications over years of use. The NOVA electronic stungun has been
proven safe with no lethal results of its use. Course content includes
legal/civil aspects of use, proper deployment and physical effects.(8
hours)
DISPATCH OPERATIONS:
This program is designed to train new 911/public safety
communications officers. However, currently employed communication
officers will benefit from this proven training program also. The
course emphasizes all aspects of public safety deployment. Some of the
items covered in this program are community policing, threat
management, inter-agency interaction, and emergency coordination.
